1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using Slope ("Platform," "Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws. If you do not agree, you must not use Slope. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time; continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and a Lebanese university student (AUB, LAU, USJ, or equivalent) to use Slope as a student. Tutors must be at least 18 years old. By signing up, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that all information provided is true, accurate, and complete.
3. User Roles & Responsibilities
3.1 Students
As a student, you agree to:
- Book sessions in good faith and honor your commitments to tutors
- Provide accurate course/subject information for matching
- Treat tutors with respect in messages and sessions
- Provide valid payment information for confirmed bookings
- Not attempt to circumvent the platform for direct payments
- Not engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior
3.2 Tutors
As a tutor, you agree to:
- Provide accurate qualifications, experience, and teaching information
- Be available for sessions at times you've indicated
- Deliver professional, respectful tutoring services
- Not collect payments outside the Slope platform
- Not recruit students away from Slope
- Maintain appropriate student-tutor boundaries
- Comply with all laws and ethical standards
4. Account Registration & Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
- You agree not to share your account with others
- You are liable for all activities under your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access (contact security@slope.academy)
- We are not liable for unauthorized access if caused by your negligence
- By signing in with Google or Facebook, you grant us permission to access your email and profile information
5. Booking, Payments & Refunds
5.1 Booking Process
- Students browse available tutors and book sessions on the Platform
- Bookings are confirmed when payment is processed
- Tutors receive notification of confirmed bookings
5.2 Payment Terms
- Students agree to pay the tutor's confirmed rate for each session
- Payment is processed through our secure payment provider
- Fees may apply (clearly disclosed at checkout)
- Payment must be completed before or during the session
5.3 Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Student Cancellation (by tutor): 48+ hours before session → Full refund; 24-48 hours → 50% refund; Less than 24 hours → No refund
- Tutor Cancellation (by tutor): 48+ hours → Full refund to student; Less than 48 hours → Full refund + platform credit to tutor
- Session No-Show (either party): No refund; marked as completed in history
- Dispute Refunds: Resolved through our dispute resolution process
5.4 Currency & Taxes
Prices are displayed in the currency selected. Tutors are responsible for understanding their own tax obligations. Slope does not provide tax advice.
6. Intellectual Property
- Slope owns all rights to the Platform, its design, code, content, and trademarks
- You retain ownership of personal content you upload (profile info, tutoring materials)
- By using Slope, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use your content for platform operation and improvement
- You may not copy, modify, or distribute Slope's code or content without permission
- Tutoring materials shared through the Platform remain your intellectual property
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users based on protected characteristics
- Engage in romantic or sexual conduct through the Platform
- Share sexually explicit, violent, or illegal content
- Attempt to circumvent payment through the Platform
- Solicit users for off-platform transactions or pyramid schemes
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent qualifications
- Spam, phish, or attempt to compromise account security
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or hack the Platform
- Scrape or automate access to Slope without permission
8. Dispute Resolution
8.1 Reporting Issues
If a session does not occur, quality is poor, or another issue arises, the affected party may file a dispute within 7 days of the session date. Disputes are reviewed by our admin team and resolved within 14 days.
8.2 Dispute Outcomes
- In favor of student: Refund issued to student
- In favor of tutor: Payment released to tutor; student marked as non-compliant
- Neutral/Inconclusive: 50/50 split or both parties warned
8.3 Repeated Violations
Users with multiple confirmed disputes may be suspended or permanently banned from the Platform.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- Slope is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind
- We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or reliability of tutoring services
- We are not responsible for student academic outcomes or tutor availability
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to amounts you paid Slope in the past 12 months
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Slope, its founders, and employees from any claims, damages, or legal costs arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your violation of any law
- Your infringement of third-party rights
- Disputes with other users
- Your unauthorized use of the Platform
11. Termination of Account
11.1 Voluntary Termination
You may delete your account anytime through account settings. Upon deletion:
- Your profile becomes inactive
- You cannot book new sessions or receive new bookings
- Active sessions must be completed or cancelled
- Outstanding payments/refunds are processed
11.2 Slope Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:
- Violate these Terms or the Privacy Policy
- Engage in prohibited conduct or fraud
- Have multiple confirmed disputes or complaints
- Violate applicable laws
- Compromise platform security
11.3 Effects of Termination
Upon termination, you lose access to your account, but your data is retained per the Privacy Policy. Outstanding disputes are resolved, and refunds processed if applicable.
12. OAuth & Third-Party Services
When you sign in with Google or Facebook, you:
- Authorize us to access your email and profile information
- Agree to their respective privacy policies and terms
- Can revoke our access anytime through their account settings
- Understand that changes to their policies may affect your access
13. Privacy & Data Protection
Your use of Slope is governed by our Privacy Policy. By accepting these Terms, you also accept the Privacy Policy. Review it carefully to understand our data practices.
14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon. Any legal action or dispute arising from your use of Slope shall be resolved in the courts of Lebanon. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of Lebanon courts.

We will respond within 30 days of receipt.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision is severed, but all other provisions remain in effect. We will replace the invalid provision with an enforceable one that preserves the original intent.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies posted on Slope, constitute the entire agreement between you and Slope regarding your use of the Platform and supersede all prior agreements.
